Hyatt status

It's not a secret, I love Hyatt!

Hyatt has the best redemptions of any of the hotel chains. What they lack is a big footprint, there are only 1,350 Hyatt hotels worldwide.  Marriott has 8,700 properties world wide. So you can see why Hyatt makes up for what they lack in footprint with a very generous loyalty program. The World of Hyatt loyalty program is the best by far.

The benefits

As a globalist we receive free upgrades to the best available room including standard suites, often we are upgraded to premium suites. We receive free parking on award nights, never pay resort fees on award or cash bookings, free breakfast for 2 adults and 2 children or free club access, late check out, and more. The info graphic on the right compares the benefits of each tier.  These benefits make Hyatt redemptions even better than the already are.

How do we get Globalist status?

Opening the cobranded World of Hyatt CHASE credit card gets instant Discoverist status. Then to achieve Globalist status you have to stay 60 nights a year.... Except, you don't *HAVE* to stay 60 nights a year to achieve and maintain status. The WoH personal CHASE card provides 5 qualifying nights credit annually, then for every $5,000 on the personal card you can get 2 nights credit. The WoH business card provides 5 nights credit for every $10,000 spend. So, when we started we let Chase cool off before we started the Companion Pass run we directed all my husband's business spend to his chase card and achieved Globalist status with $120,000 of spend, without ever stepping foot in a Hyatt. We maintain status now with a mix of stays and spend. The second year of this hobby we had 42 nights of Hyatt stays so I just had to make sure we let at least $40,000 of business spend go to his WoH card before the end of the statement year.
